Real Name: Colby Daniel Lopez
Stage Name: Seth Rollins
Birthdate: May 28, 1986
Place of Birth: Iowa, United States
WWE Debut: December 2012
Spouse: Becky Lynch
Finisher: The Stomp
Height: 185 cm (approx. 6’1 ft.)

Colby Daniel Lopez grew up in the nearby town of Buffalo, Iowa. He is of Armenian (his biological father’s ancestry), German and Irish descent. His surname, Lopez, comes from his elder brother Brandon’s Mexican-American father, whom Rollins considered his own father, as seen in WWE 24. He graduated from Davenport West High School in 2004. As a teenager, he was an introvert and a big fan of rock and heavy metal music who lived a straight edge lifestyle. Rollins trained at a wrestling school owned by Danny Daniels on the borders of Chicago and Oak Park, Illinois.

Colby’s wrestling career started in 2005 when he wrestled under the ring name Gixx. He then joined ‘Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South’ and entered the ‘Ted Petty Invitational Tournament.’ He was eliminated in the QFs by Matt Sydal on September 23, 2005.

Later, he joined ‘NWA Midwest’ and teamed up with Marek Brave. The duo won the tag team championship and went on to defend the title successfully. He made brief appearances in ‘TNA Wrestling,’ ‘Full Impact Pro,’ and ‘Pro Wrestling Guerilla.’

He became known as Tyler Black and soon became part of the ROH (Ring of Honor) along with teammates Jimmy Jacobs and Necro Butcher. In 2007, they won the ‘ROH Tag Team Championship.’ After losing to the then popular wrestler McGuiness, Jacobs broke the partnership with Colby (Tyler). In June 2008, Tyler defeated Jimmy Jacobs in a steel cage match.

In September 2009, he defeated several wrestlers like Chris Hero, Colt Cabana, and Austin Aries to win the ‘ROH World Championship.’ He defended his title seven consecutive times before losing it to Roderick Strong in 2010.

In 2010, Colby joined WWE under the ring name Seth Rollins. He defeated Trent Barreta in his debut match. On January 13, 2011, he won the ‘FCW 15 Championship.’

Rollins appeared alongside Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, and attacked Ryback to allow CM Punk pin John Cena. The trio started calling themselves ‘The Shield.’ It was later revealed that CM Punk had quietly associated himself with ‘The Shield.’

‘The Shield’ continued its journey, beating many superstars in several six-men tag team matches. However, their run ended in 2014 when Triple H asked Rollins to attack his teammates and join ‘The Authority.’
Later in 2014, Rollins won the ‘Money in the Bank’ contract after Kane helped him defeat Ambrose in a ladder match.

Rollins took part in a triple threat match against John Cena and Brock Lesnar, which was won by Brock Lesnar. Rollins cashed his ‘Money in the Bank’ contract to convert a match between Lesnar and Reigns into a triple threat match and won the ‘World Heavyweight Championship’ by pinning Reigns.

He won the ‘United States Championship’ after defeating John Cena in August 2014. He became the first man to win both the titles simultaneously.

In November 2014, he suffered a knee injury and was asked to rest for six to eight months. He made his comeback in a match against Reigns and won the ‘Heavyweight Championship’ title. However, he lost it minutes later to Ambrose in another match.

Throughout his time as a member of The Shield, before the team initially dispersed, his character was that of an “out-spoken hot-head who will do crazy things” to help The Shield. After turning into a villain and aligning himself with AOP in late-2019, Rollins began to dub himself “Monday Night Messiah” and allude himself to Jesus while debuting a new entrance theme to go along with the new character. He also began recruiting new “disciples” into his group such as Murphy and Austin Theory proclaiming himself to be their leader and savior. In 2021, Rollins adopted his “Visionary” persona, which was a boastful, delusional character that had a reputation for eccentricity and wore flamboyant suits.

He made his film debut with ‘Sharknado: The 4th Awakens’ in 2016. In 2017, he lent his voice to ‘The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania!’ The same year, he played ‘Brett’ in John Stockwell’s action-horror film ‘Armed Response.’

In 2020, he played ‘Byron’ in Miguel Arteta’s American comedy film ‘Like a Boss.’
